Romans 14:17 “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
The ‘Kingdom of God’ is not a Christian cliché; it is the lifestyle of a child of God. While the Kingdom of Heaven is a physical location (Revelation 21:16), the kingdom of God is a royal, kingly and victorious way of living. The Kingdom of God is not tangible – it is not eating and drinking but a lifestyle of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
Living in the kingdom lifestyle is a paradigm shift to our carnal mindset. It elevates us as co-heirs with Jesus as crowned rulers. We are sons of God not slaves to sin/satan. We are made righteous not because we are “faultless” but because we are “forgiven” by His blood. Kingdom thinking will shift us from “condemnation-mindset” to “royal-mind-set”. The righteous have access to the riches of heaven. The blessings promised in God’s word for the righteous belong to everyone who has declared that “Jesus is Lord” and believe in their heart that God raised Him from the dead. The faith in our heart and the declaration in our mouth qualify us to access the divine wisdom, wealth and well-being. Our righteousness must be renewed every day by surrender and sanctification to the His Spirit.
The Kingdom of God is a lifestyle of Righteousness, Royalty and Rulership:
Kingdom Lifestyle – Righteousness:
1. Condemnation: We do not live under condemnation, curses or the consequences of our past sins. When hell shoots fiery darts of condemnation, shame and guilt – fire back the Word of God and splash the blood of Jesus to drive out the guilt-tripping demons. We are forgiven, accepted, loved, favoured and the righteous child of God.
2. Crown: We are crowned as rulers with honour and glory. Honour brings respect and glory crowns us with power with full access to the divine resources. King’s kids and royalty know no fear, lack or deprivation.
3. Caveat: Righteousness is the seal on our lives that the devil has no authority over us. Unless we open the door to the demons by our uncontrolled tongue or stubborn sins, we are completely defended.
Kingdom lifestyle gives us access and authority to enjoy the resources of heaven.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, transform my mindset to kingdom thinking. Amen.
