Fear accounts for nearly 95% of the problems people face. If we learn to defeat fearful thoughts and overcome dread then, we are on the way to victory. Mastery over fear is the secret to a purposeful life. Dreams die in the dungeon of dread.
With every challenge we face, our mind is attacked with anxiety, apprehensions and fear. Fear is a spirit from the pit of hell that comes to swallow our faith and our future. Once we entertain fear we will not be able to get through the door of faith into our destiny. Fear of rejection, fear of death, fear of failure, fear of finances, fear of future are some of the most common fears we face. Forebodings are nuances of fear. Before a qualm turns into a full blown panic attack, cry out for help. “Jesus Help” is the prayer that will help us to overcome fear. Without defeating fear we cannot overcome any crisis.
The psalmist David faced all of the above fears. He was at the brink of death several times. The ray of hope for his future was very dim and he was wandering in the wilderness like a nomad yet, he strengthened himself by refocusing his attention on the power and the promises of God. “When I am afraid, I will trust in you” (Psalm 56:3). Shifting our focus from the worry to worship will reinstate hope, peace and joy. Fight fear by repeating the promises of God.
Help:
1. Failure: The truth is, God’s children cannot fail. We may fall seven times but we will get up, learn our lessons and keep going.
2. Finance: The faith-formula (Matthew 6:33) teaches us not to worry about finances, needs or bills. When we seek the kingdom lifestyle, (joy and peace) and choose to live righteously, money and material things must follow us. We don’t go after success –when we walk in obedience, favour and success will chase us down.
3. Future: No one has control over our future except the Lord God. The God who feeds the birds and clothes the wild flowers has our future secured.
A simple cry “Jesus Help” will dissipate fear.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, In you I will trust and rest. Amen.
