29 September 2025 – The Bread – Part 6

2 Timothy 3:16-18 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

The process of making sprouted bread is more complex than ordinary white bread. To make sprouted bread, the grains and legumes must be soaked and then allowed to sprout. The sprouted grains with tiny tails at the bottom are mashed along with other ingredients to bake the bread. This laborious process adds a ton of goodness and health benefits such as increased nutrients, easily digestible starch, more fiber, higher protein, and antioxidants.

The Word of God is like consuming sprouted bread. It is packed with the goodness of instructions, directions and corrections to equip us to live righteously. There are people who only read the promises or the psalm to make them feel good. Sprouted bread is not necessarily the tastiest bread. There are other unhealthy options that taste good but are bad for the gut. Similarly, it is important to study the Bible by topics, books, characters, words and even verse by verse to equip and empower us for every good work.

King David received a stern correction from the Lord when he transported the Ark of the Covenant into the city of Jerusalem. The priests did not follow the instructions given to them in Numbers 7:9; they carried the ark on a cart rather than on their shoulders. Hence there was an unexpected tragic death of Uzzah. It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.” (1 Chronicles 15:13).

The Daily Bread of Life:

1.             Teach: The Bible is the daily bread that teaches us right from wrong. Those who ignore the book and the bread entangle themselves in many sorrows.

2.             Train: The Bible trains us to walk in the right path, in the right way. Many are doing the right things but for the wrong reasons and in the wrong manner.

3.             Triumph: The Bible is God’s wisdom and God’s direction to live triumphantly.

The Bible is God’s Living Sprouted Bread. Enjoy it daily.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, I commit to read and receive from your Living Word every day. Amen.
