16 October 2025 – CCC – Part 2

Acts 16:25 About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

In God’s economy “clocks, calendar and calculators” start and stop at God’s command.

As God’s wall clock struck twelve midnight, the angels of the Lord started shaking the foundations of the city of Phillipa where Paul and Silas were flogged, severely beaten, and imprisoned. Angels are very experienced ‘earthquakers’. They shook the foundations of the walls of Jericho and collapsed it centuries ago for Joshua and his fighting men. They did the same to Phillipa.

The hands of God’s clock come together when they hear praise and worship. When sincere songs of love and worship ascend to heaven and meet with the splendor of God, miracles happen on earth. Praise moves the hands on God’s clock and performs miracles but the praise that rose from the bloody prison was like missiles that shook Philippi with awe and trembling! Instead of wallowing in self-pity Paul and Silas had a praise party in the prison. Praise shook the prison walls and snapped the chains and stocks on their hands and feet.

“Praise collides with the power of God and causes supernatural combustion!”

When we are stuck in the valley of tears, sickness or suffering and God’s clock seems to be very slow, switch from self-pity to singing. Praise makes the clock in heaven tick faster. While it is extremely difficult to praise when we are in pain, shift the focus from your ‘need’ to ‘God’s provision’. As long as we look at our lack we will wallow in deprivation, however when we turn our attention to God’s provision there will be acceleration to the answer.

Clock, Calendar & Calculators:

1.         Pity: Self-pity will drown us deeper in disappointment. Self-pity is being overly sorry about the difficulty or the struggle that would make a person stuck in a victim mentality. Self-pity slows down God’s clock.

2.         Praise: Praise strikes twelve in God’s clock. Praise is the power bank for miracles.

3.         Party: Praise brings the presence and power of God in our situation and turns the peril into a party.

“Praise collides with the power of God and causes supernatural combustion!”

Praise moves the clock in heaven.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I will praise you at all times, on the mountain tops and the dark valley. Amen.
