Habakkuk 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
“Perseverance forges our character to produce fruit”.
Vision is a portrait of our future in our heart. Vision is a painted picture in the horizon that we envisage through the window of our soul. At times, the vision would seem far away. The faster we try to get to it; the further away it would seem to move, but the road of perseverance will take us to our God-given vision. The promises of God are the paintbrush that paints our vision. It might come as prophecies and/or promises but the path to our destined future is through the discipline of perseverance.
Joseph had a vision about his future as a teenager. He held on to it tenaciously until the vision came to pass. It seemed to be very slow. In fact the trajectory of his life went south when he was sold as a slave yet, he held on to the vision in his heart tenaciously and faithfully until it came to pass.
The prophetic words and promises spoken over us before many years or even decades will come to pass if we don’t lose sight of the vision. In the end, the vision will have a voice of victory.
Perseverance paves the way to the vision:
- Vision: Vision is a surge of unquenchable passion in our heart that overflows into priorities and principles. Vision without action is only a fantasy. Vision fuels the purpose for our existence. If there is no vision and purpose for our lives we only exist, using up the resources of the earth.
- Voice: In the end, the vision will have a voice. The picture in our heart will preach to millions if we persevere and not give up. When Joseph was 30 years, the vision he had as a teenager had a ‘voice of victory’.
- Victory: Vision energized by purpose and empowered by perseverance will make us powerful and victorious to accomplish God’s will on the earth.
Perseverance is the force that gives our vision a voice of victory.
Prayer: Father God, let me never lose sight of the vision for my life but persevere even if it tarries. Amen.
