08 November 2025 – Divine Power – Part 4

2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

“Divine power is authority over mind, man and mammon”.

Divine power is engraved in us through the knowledge of our glorious, gracious and good Father. An increased measure of knowledge will enhance divine power to live godly lives. The “knowledge of God” does not stop with head knowledge but is the revelation of the heart that empowers a person.

The Apostle Peter in his second epistle goes on to says “make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love” (1 Peter 1:5-7) The seed of faith must nurture with goodness, divine knowledgeself-controlperseverancegodliness, brotherly affection and loveGrowing in the knowledge of God and godliness makes us powerful. How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word (Psalm 119:9). Purity is power.

Every trial is an opportunity to draw on God’s divine power to flow through us. So when we face a challenge we must comprehend how Jesus would react to the issueWhat would He say, how would He respond and what would He do. This understanding comes from the knowledge of Him through His Word.

Knowledge imparts Divine Power:

  1. Desire: The Lord God has deposited as seeds everything we need to live godly lives, and the knowledge and understanding of the scriptures, waters these seeds and nurtures them to grow.
  2. Dedication: Growth does not happen automatically. Dedication to ingest and digest the Word of God and our devotion to read, retain and repeat the scriptures enlightens our heart to the divine power available to us.
  3. Divine Power: Godliness is a choice. Choosing to return good for evil, love instead of hate and forgiveness rather than revenge is a choice. Endeavoring to live like Jesus increases the flow of divine power through us.

“The more we know Him the more powerful and purposeful we become”.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, you are the Spirit of Wisdom and knowledge. Give me deeper insights of you and inculcate your nature in me. Amen.
