Ephesians 4:7 Yet grace [God’s undeserved favor] was given to each one of us [not indiscriminately, but in different ways] in proportion to the measure of Christ’s [rich and abundant] gift.
“Divine power is authority over mind, man and mammon”.
The Grace of God rains down on us like showers empowering us to fulfill our calling and our purpose. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (1 Peter 3:18). As we grow in the grace of God, the divine power to accomplish our assignments will develop. Understanding our calling and acknowledging the grace and the gifting will enable us to nurture and exercise divine power. The God of Grace has deposited in us the anointing, gifting and divine power to accomplish God’s purpose.
Samson was called to be the Judge of Israel. He was empowered with supernatural strength to deliver the people from the oppression of the Philistines. The Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart with his bare hands as he might have torn a young goat (Judges 14:6). The divine power entrusted to him was not to fulfill his agenda or build his fame, but to serve the people.
Samson lost the grace and the divine strength entrusted to him when he misused and misappropriated his gifting.
God’s grace will empower us to fulfill the purpose for which He has called us.
God’s Grace nurtures Divine Power:
- Empower: To be empowered by supernatural strength we must make room for the grace of God to work in us. Those who fail to recognize grace and are proud of their abilities or rely on their capabilities, will destroy both grace and divine power. Obedience increases the anointing and divine power.
- Exercise: We must willingly and boldly exercise the gift of interceding, encouraging or serving. Prophesying, visiting the sick, hospitality or counseling will be a stretch to our busy schedule but the more we exercise the gift selflessly, the power will flow seamlessly.
- Expend: The divine power of God must be expended to build His kingdom, as we serve as good stewards of His abundant grace entrusted to us.
“Grace and Divine power multiplies as we serve Him selflessly”.
Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, coach me to increase the divine power and correct me when I take your grace for granted. Amen.
