Jeremiah 1:9-10 Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “I have put my words in your mouth. See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”
Words become the bricks and mortar that build our future. Words shape our health, wealth and well-being. Heaven’s ears are attentive to the words of faith and hell trembles when we speak profound and prophetic promises. Angels wait, watch and hasten to execute and fulfill the words of our mouth. From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things, and the work of their hands brings them reward (Proverbs 12:14).
Words spoken in faith have creative power. Similarly, words spoken in fear also have destructive power. The horsepower of ‘the spoken words’ would depend on the faith attached to it. If we boldly declare the creative power of God, who is able to give life to the dead and call things into being that do not exist, then extraordinary miracles will manifest. However, if we blurt out negative and fearful words from a trembling heart, we have spoken doom over our own lives. Declaring the promises employ angles but destructive words of fear empower demons to cause havoc. Words are building material that fashion our future.
The shepherd boy, David, killed the giant with his words before he released the stone from his slingshot. (1 Samuel 17:46). David’s declaration of triumph over the enemy set the stage of his victory. Watch the words of your mouth. Speak words that will uproot the demonic interference and plant divine rulership over your life.
Words fashion our future:
- Bless: Our first words, as soon as we open our eyes, should be words of praise and worship. Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name! (Psalm 103:1). Praise turns the attention of heaven towards us.
- Break: Bind, blind and break the powers of hell with the authority that is vested on you. Hell crumbles when words of faith are spoken authoritatively.
- Build: As words of faith are declared, divine favor descends, and the ministering angels hasten to perform them.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I give you the bridle of my mouth and tongue into your hands. Amen.
