02 December 2025 – Building Project – Part 7

2 Chronicles 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah[a] the Jebusite, the place provided by David.

It took 7 years for the completion of the temple that was built by King Solomon. The architectural drawing was the replica of the Tabernacle of Moses however the temple was much larger in size.  Cedar and cypress wood from Lebanon and precious and expensive stones were used to build the structure. The interior of the Most Holy place was overlaid with gold while the altar and the basins and pillars were made of bronze. Current day estimates of the building material, craftsmen and the architecture of the temple would be around $300-$500 billion USD. King David accumulated a significant portion of the gold, silver, bronze, iron, and precious stones for the project. The magnificent temple was the place of worship of the people of Israel for 370 years until it was destroyed by the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.

Jesus came to restore a temple that human hands cannot destroy. He came to redeem humanity and rebuild the soul wrecked by sin, tarnished by iniquities and bound by curses. You surely know that your body is a temple where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own (1 Corinthians 6:19). When our heart becomes His home it would be much more precious than the $500 billion dollar worth splendid structure. We are God’s building project.

God’s Building Project:

  1. Rubbles: Jesus uses the rubbles of sins and the ashes of bad choices and mistakes as His building materials to build our testimony. He replaces rubbles with rubies and makes our body as the temple of the Holy Spirit.
  2. Resources: Jesus never stops investing His blood to redeem the rejected, outcast and condemned by the world. There is no limit to the divine resources of His love, grace and mercy to redeem us.
  3. Renovate: Jesus renovates the devastated soul, the scars of abuse and the remains of addiction and overlays the wood with gold. Our rugged past is covered with gold.

“We are God’s Building Project”.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, I welcome you to renovate and make my heart your dwelling place. Amen.
