Ephesians 1:18-19a I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in His holy people, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.
The enlightened eyes will magnify the incredibly great power of God over anything or anyone. Fear will flee when the eyes of our heart are enlightened to the exceedingly great power and authority of our Risen Saviour. Problems turn into promotions under the power of God. Challenges will become stepping stones of progress under His immeasurable greatness.
The difference between the teenager, David and trained warriors of the kingdom of Israel was “his scriptural knowledge” about the glorious inheritance and the power of God for God’s chosen people. David knew the power of God and his authority over the enemy. Hence while the rest of the valiant warriors cowered and hid in fear, David challenged the giant courageously.
Revelation Knowledge changes our attitude and approach to any situation. Wisdom shows us the way we should go, but revelation knowledge reveals the path that we must take. The more we know Him the bolder we will become.
Enlightened eyes will help us to see our rights, privileges, authority, protection and help through the Word of God. We will not be threatened by the words, writs or wrath of earthly or demonic rulers. God’s Word is our final verdict. The more and more we magnify God’s immeasurably great power, the smaller and smaller our problems will become until they are defeated and disappear. The truth of God’s Word will burn as an unquenchable passion in our heart.
Enlightened Eyes:
- Rights: The rights of a child of God build our confidence. God’s Word says, healing is our right and divine protection is His promise. We will not be pleading for healing or protection but will exercise the promises and enjoy our rights.
- Rules: We will learn to hate what God hates and love what God loves. The promises and privileges in God’s Word can be exercised only when we live under God’s Rule Book, the Bible.
- Response: Our response will establish God’s sovereignty.
A spiritually enlightened heart exalts God’s power above every problem.
Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, open my eyes to the rich inheritance and your immeasurably great power. Amen.
