05 January 2026 – Transformational Breakthroughs – Part 5

Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

The dictionary meaning of “Transformation” is a radical change in form, nature, or appearance. It is a process of a complete makeover that the previous characteristics become unrecognizable. An encounter with the Lord does not just repair but replaces our heart. Our spiritual heart is not the organ that pumps blood to keep us alive. It is the very core of our being; our inner man that holds the truth. It is the residence of our belief system and values that form our character and behaviour. The Lord has given us a profound promise that He will remove the heart that was hardened by sins, transgressions and iniquities and will give us a brand new heart that is pure, persistent and pious.

The avaricious tax collector, Zacchaeus, had an encounter with Jesus. Jesus invited Himself to the house of Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1-10).  There were several ardent followers of Jesus who deeply desired that He would visit them and bless them, yet, Jesus chose to go to the house of the sinful man. However, as soon as Jesus stepped into his house there was a spiritual “heart transplant”. The greedy, misery, callous tax collector was transformed into a generous, magnanimous and compassionate man. The light of the world entered the life of Zacchaeus and darkness fled! The entrance of your words gives light (Psalm 119:130). Zacchaeus was not only convicted but the covetousness and coldness vanished and God’s love transformed him.

Rebellion, revelry and rage are only symptoms of a callous heart that is hardened by sin. When we pray for the salvation of our rebellious family members the Lord will give them a new heart. An encounter with Jesus will perform a spiritual heart surgery and transform the wayward into worshippers.

“Heart transplant” results in Transformational Breakthroughs:

  1. Transfer: Stop striving with the rebellious and start praying for them to have an encounter with Jesus.
  2. Transplant: Surrender the disobedient to the Lord and He will perform a heart transplant surgery.
  3. Transform: Jesus transforms the past without a trace or blemish.

The wayward need a heart transplant not a harsh rebuke.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, please touch the wayward and give them a new heart.  Amen.
