Ezekiel 47:9 There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.
Prophet Ezekiel had a stunning vision of the healing River of Life. Wherever this river flowed it brought life, newness and growth. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh (vs 8). The river turned saltiness into freshness and deadness into life. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows (vs 9). The river brought abundance. There were fruit trees along the river banks that were fruitful every single month of the year (vs 12).
This vision is an analogy of the River of Life, the Holy Spirit. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is like swimming in the River of Life. His presence brings life to the dead, healing to the salty soil and flourishing land. In this River there is fullness of joy, peace and hope.
Swimming is the act of surrender that allows the Holy Spirit to navigate our life. Anointing transforms our tongue, thoughts and touch. Under the anointing the words we speak will become the fresh water to a hopeless soul and life-giving soul-food to broken lives. The constant nourishment from the River of Life will keep us fruitful all year round. The profound secret to have a transformational breakthrough in life is to desire, dip and dwell into the River of Life.
The anointing barrages our life with spiritual awakening, abundance and becomes the antidote to our body and our mind.
The Anointing is the key to Transformational Breakthroughs:
- Awakening: Spiritual awakening is to see, perceive and hear through our spiritual ears. Anointing breaks the yoke of darkness, deadness and dread and will make us purposeful and joyful.
- Abundance: The definition of abundance is a “brimming heart”, not the “bursting bank account”. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them (vs 12).
- Antidote: The anointing will make us lush and verdant. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing (vs 12). We will not wither in disaster but will become the antidote to others (Psalm 37:19).
“Desire to swim in the River of Life.”
Prayer: Father God, anoint me with fire that I might be a conduit of transformational breakthrough to those around me. Amen.
