15 January 2026 – Ladder of Faith – Part 1

Galatians 5:22-23  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Enduring faith is faithfulness. “Faith” that prolongs through tough times and persists through the trials of life becomes “faithfulness”. Steady faith endures the storm and comes out stronger. This faith is deposited as a seed in every person. ..In accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you (Romans 12:3b). The seeds of faith deposited in our hearts develop to grow into the fruit of faithfulness.

A measure of faith was given to Moses when he was called as “the deliverer” for the Hebrew slaves. The seed of faith was deposited in Moses to step-out and fulfill his assignment. However, Moses in disbelief gave excuses to God. Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” (Exodus 3:11). But the Lord God gave him the assurance that His power will manifest through him as signs and wonders.

The seed germinated and grew into a fruitful tree of faithfulness in Moses as he walked in obedience, submission and meekness. The fruit of faithfulness was the glorious glow on his face (Exodus 34:29-35). Almost at the end of his journey, the Lord Himself witnessed, “Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, make Myself known to him in a vision; I speak to him in a dream. Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house (Numbers 12:6-7). The seed of faith planted in his heart in the wilderness grew into the fruit of faithfulness after years of endurance.

A measure of faith is deposited as seeds in you and in me. The first step to climb the ladder of faith is to plant, water and nurture the seeds of faith.

The Seed of Faith:

  1. Plant: The seeds of faith must be planted in a good soil. The heart with doubts and disbelief are toxins that will kill the seed.
  2. Persist: Faith –Doubt = Persistence.
  3. Prevail: Speak God’s Word and prevail over the disbelief that comes to crush faith.

“Plant the seed of faith in a good soil of love, truth and integrity”.

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, help me overcome doubt and grow the seed of faith. Amen.
