16 January 2026 – Ladder of Faith – Part 2

Romans 1:17b “The righteous will live by faith.”

A seed planted in good soil absorbs moisture which causes the seed coat to swell and burst. The breaking of the seed coat marks the beginning of germination. The seed no longer looks the same once it germinates. Roots start growing and shoots push upwards. This transformation is the transition from dormancy to active life of a seed.

The beautiful metaphor is a very close representation of what happens to the seed of faith that germinates in our heart. Seeds of faith germinate as they absorb the water, the Word of God. So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Reading God’s Word and absorbing the sap by meditating on the scriptures breaks the seed coat of fear and apprehension. Breaking of the old nature, belief system and conventional thinking is the second step in the ladder of faith. Germinating Faith is the stage of transformation of our thinking and talking.

Germination of the seed of faith renews the mind from the corrupt, callous and crooked thinking and transforms our thoughts to alignment with the Word of God.

The faith of the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years germinated when she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed” (Mark 5:28). Her mind was renewed when her trust shifted from the doctors and physicians to the Master Healer. Transformational Thinking germinates the seeds of faith.

Germinating Faith:

  1. Read: Soaking in God’s Word breaks the coat of traditionalism and turpitude and germinates the seeds of faith. Faith germinates when the Holy Spirit sparks the information into revelation as we read and ruminate on the scriptures.
  2. Renew: The renewing of the mind breaks the hard coat of panic, perversion and pessimism. A renewed mind completely changes form. There will be no trace of the old personality in the renewed mind.
  3. Reform: The transformation of the mind will be revealed in the reformation of the tongue. The old nature will die and ugly addictions will wither away. If the past obsessions are pulling you back, the seed sack of faith has still not been broken to destroy the old nature.

Germinating faith will transform thinking, talking and our testimony.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, I will soak in the Word, break the seed sack of faith and renew my mind every day. Amen.
