24 January 2026 – The Blessed – Part 3

Psalm 89:15-16 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice in your name all day long; they celebrate your righteousness.

To acclaim can also be translated as “joyful sounds” of praise, worship and thanksgiving for God’s goodness. Those who have mastered the art of worship or a lifestyle of gratitude enjoy safety, security and serenity. Walking in the light of God’s presence adds another layer of spiritual sanctity and shelter. Choosing righteousness is like turning on the floodlights to brighten the trajectory of our life. The righteous are bold as a lion.

Worship is not an inborn talent but a learnt and trained spiritual habit. Choosing to acknowledge God’s goodness and rejoicing in His name all day long is a spiritual discipline that will make us blessed and favored by God. Rejoicing in the power and releasing the authority of His name brings victory. Worship makes us wise, verdant, vigilant and vibrant. Complaining and grouching makes us step out of the favour of God. Nurture the spiritual discipline to acclaim Him to remain under the radar of “the Blessed”.

Acclaiming and praising God is the secret to breakthroughs. Jesus gave thanks before He fed the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 fishes – He gave thanks and broke the loaves (Matthew 14:19). Jesus worshipped before raising Lazarus from the dead – Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me (John 11:41). Acknowledge and acclaim the wonder working name of the Lord will inundate our domain with His miraculous power.

Acclaim, Rejoice & Celebrate His Holy Name:

  1. Acclaim: Acclamation is powerful. Acknowledging the awesomeness of our God, recollecting all that He has done in the past automatically releases His power into the present. “I will meditate on all your works and consider your mighty deeds” (Psalm 77:11). Let the name of Jesus never leave your lips.
  2. Adore: Adoration and acknowledgement of God’s kindness keeps us grateful. Remembering the rut that He saved us from will keep us humble.
  3. Appreciate: Celebrate Jesus by recollecting the chains and curses that He has broken and slap satan on his face.

Start your day with acclamation, enjoy noon with adoration and rest through the dusk with appreciation.

Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, Help me to sing, acclaim, rejoice and celebrate your Holy name. Amen.
