Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.
Blessed are those who have the God’s Word on their mind and mouth 24/7. When scriptures set the momentum and the movements of our life, we will live under God’s divine favour. When God’s Word becomes the medication that heals us physically, emotionally and financially, we will be “blessed, favoured and prosperous”. Those who love the Word of God will walk away from slanderers, refuse to be identified with malingers and exit gossip groups. If we are not part of a problem or a solution to the problem we have no business to talk about it.
The promotion, power and prosperity of David were a by-product of His love for God’s Word. “Oh, how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day” (Psalm 119:97). He took all his direction from God’s Word. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Bible reading was not a chore or a tick in the box for David. “I rejoice at your word as one who finds great spoil” (Psalm 119:162). God’s Word made him wise and influential. He grew in power and wisdom as he loved and meditated on God’s Word.
The Davidic blessings of a lasting dynasty, eternal throne, fame, legacy and a special relationship with God can be attributed to the discipline of meditating on God’s Word. He was full of God’s Word that in all circumstances, good or bad, he opened his mouth and sang a song of praise and worshiped the Lord.
Davidic Blessings will follow those who meditate on God’s Word day and night:
- Meditate: Do not let them depart from your mind. Pick a verse and meditate on it all day. Write them and stick them on your mirror, laptop and windshield.
- Munch: Speaking the scriptures aloud is very powerful.
- Medication: Medicate your body and mind with God’s Word.
Davidic blessings of favour, fame and fortune will be on those who love God’s Word.
Prayer: Father Divine, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Amen.
