Insider information in government or national security contexts is insider intelligence that helps prevent threats and protect people or assets. Insider information concealed in the scriptures is our divine intelligence that protects us from harm, loss and defeat.

John the Baptist was the cousin of Jesus. They were only 6 months apart. When King Herod heard about the birth of Messiah and realized that he had been tricked by the Magi who did not give him information about Baby Jesus, he gave orders for all baby boys below the age of 2 to be killed. Baby John’s life would have also been in danger as his parents Elizabeth and Zachariah lived in the Judean hill country.  The Bible scholars and Jewish historians say that Elizabeth ran into the desert and raised John in the wilderness. John was a desert man who clothed himself with camel’s skin, leather belt and ate locusts and honey and became the “voice of one calling in the wilderness”.  The evil ruse of Herod carried John into the desert. John was not a voice in the hill country or the town. He was the voice in the wilderness who prepared a way for the Messiah which fulfilled the Messianic prophecy.

Are you in a desert or a wilderness? The perils peddle us towards our purpose.

The circumstances we face might seem like a wilderness experience but it is the dry scorching desert that will mold us and make us into the minister, the mother and the mentor that we are called to be.

The Insider Information   your Wilderness:

  1. Writ: Don’t be intimidated by a writ – an announcement about your career, health or future. God will use the writ to write your purpose.
  2. Wrong: The order of the king to destroy was the very thing the Lord used to raise John in the wilderness and shaped him to accomplish his purpose. The wrongs or drawbacks are God’s backdrops of God’s destiny direction.
  3. Wilderness: The wilderness is our bootcamp that prepares us for our purpose.

All things work together for the good of those who love God.

Prayer: Father God, open my eyes to see your will in my wilderness. Amen.
