Esther 6:1 On that night the king could not sleep; and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles, and they were read before the king.
There was an evil ruse brewing against the Jews who were spread over the kingdom of Persia. Haman hated Mordecai and his people, hence he plotted a wicked homicide and planned to completely annihilate the Jewish race from the face of the earth. Mordecai and the Jews all over the kingdom were in mourning. While darkness had covered over the future of Israel, God was at work.
Mordecai was sleeping but God stole the sleep of the king to begin the promotion of Mordecai and the demotion of Haman. The Lord demolished the ploy of the evil enemy by striking the king with insomnia! The news about the plot of mass genocide had rattled the Jews and Haman was rejoicing that he had the signature of the king to execute his malicious strategy, but while the night had fallen, the God of Israel who neither slumbers or sleeps was in action.
Are you intimidated by people of influence who might rise up against you? Are the gossip gangs stealing your sleep or the fear of the future causing you to toss and turn on your bed. There is a fire wall of protection around those who seek him and nothing and no one can touch you.
While we sleep, God is at work:
- Ruse: Take courage my friend. No ruler, authority, powers of this world (witchcraft) or evil forces in wicked places (demonic kingdom and hell) can plot, plan or attack God’s children. No wicked ruse of the enemy can touch you.
- Reinforce: No longer will violence be heard in your land, nor ruin or destruction within your borders, but you will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise (Isaiah 60:18). Reinforce the walls of your domain, your family, finance and future with the name of Jesus and let praise be the only door that is open. The name of the Lord is a strong tower and no demon or evil ploy can enter through it.
- Rest: Don’t lose your sleep over a diagnosis, decree or disruption. Trust and rest.
Don’t lose your sleep. Rest while God wins your battles.
Prayer: Father Divine, help my eyes to rest as I focus on you. Amen.
