Psalm 8:3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?.
An artist signs their piece of art for three reasons – to authenticate, to take authority over the art piece and to signify completion. The signature of the artist on the piece of work is to brand his creation. There is always an emotional connection to an astounding piece of artwork. There will also be a theme and a storyline behind the paint. Invariably, the emotional connection that the artist has with a piece of art will appreciate the value of his creation.
When a well-known artist values a piece of art and is deeply emotionally connected to the art they refuse to sell it. The longer they hold it from the public, the greater the appreciation.
The universe is imprinted with the signature of God. Unfortunately, humans, whose eyes are blinded by sin, fail to see the signature of God in creation. Some admire nature and communicate to the creation and not the Creator. Others are awestruck and lean to worship the sun, moon, stars and crawling creatures to become pantheist. While others challenge the Word of God and try to coin theories against theology with their bird brain!
However, the signature of God is in all of His creation:
- Authority: God’s authority over the cosmos is evident as we acknowledge the signature of God in creation. As we admire the gushing river and the sunset, worship the creator with songs of joy.
- Authenticate: After God created the world, He said, “it is good” and finished the day with His signature to authenticate and appreciate His masterpiece. We see the signature of God on the lofty mountain ranges and the mighty gushing rivers.
- Alluded: The name of the Lord is exalted by the rolling thunder, the flashing lightning and hail that rains from the sky. All of God’s creation boldly and profoundly declare the splendour and might of God our Father.
The fingerprint of the Lord cannot be ignored in the sun rise or the summer rains.
Worship Him as you witness the signature of God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, As I see your awesome creation I kneel down to sing “How Great Thou Art”. Amen.
