Psalm 22:3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.
A heart of thanksgiving and a mouth of praise builds a throne for the Lord God Almighty. Gratitude and an attitude of worship attract the presence of the Lord. The Lord’s presence floods a place and person who is overflowing with thanksgiving and gratitude.
David knew the secret to make his dwelling place God’s favorite destination. Hence, he appointed worship leaders Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun who were skillful in playing instruments and a team of 288 Levites to stand before the Ark of the Covenant to sing praises day and night, 24/7. David established “perpetual worship” as their daily lifestyle. He appointed some of the Levites to minister before the ark of the Lord, to extol, thank, and praise the Lord, the God of Israel (1 Chronicles 16:4). David created an atmosphere of worship with regular and continual celebration and recognition of God’s goodness.
To make our homes and hearts God’s favorite destination we must establish a perpetual worship lifestyle. Build a spiritual palatial throne with your praise. Praise Him in the morning, praise Him in the noon time, praise Him at dawn and at dusk. Make melody to the Lord in your bed and sing praises when you walk, drive and shower. An atmosphere of worship and perpetual praise draws the Shakina glory into our dwelling. Praise is the most powerful prayer that establishes the throne of God on earth.
God’s Favorite Destination:
- Perpetual Worship: We can pray without ceasing if praise never leaves our mind and mouth. “Pray without ceasing” (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Perpetual worship must become our lifestyle. When our mind is trained to remain in a mode of worship, we will never become moody or melancholic.
- Professional Worship: David appointed skilled and trained musicians and singers to stand before the Ark of the Covenant. Along with their relatives—all of them trained and skilled in music for the LORD—they numbered 288 (1 Chronicles 25:7). Poignant worship does not need skilled fingers and trained voice box but a humble heart and a grateful soul that is fixated on the grace and mercy of God.
- Praise: Praise God in everything and at all times.
Praise builds a throne for the Lord.
Prayer: Father God, I welcome you to be enthroned in my continual praise and worship. Amen.
