Isaiah 38:8 I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.
“Being overshadowed by God’s presence is to be enveloped in His presence, protection and power.”
The stairway of Ahaz was a “sundial” that tracked the time with the movement of the shadows. It was a timekeeping device, probably in the structure of a staircase. When the Lord healed Hezekiah of his deadly disease and extended his life by 15 years, the Prophet Isaiah confirmed it by a sign by making the sunlight go back ten steps. Prophet Isaiah gave King Hezekiah a choice; the shadow could go forward or backward as a sign of his healing and Hezekiah requested that it goes back by ten steps and so it did! This is a beautiful analogy of God’s supernatural power reversing bloodline curses, the sting of condemnation and consequences of sins. Under the shadow of the Almighty the natural and normal will be reversed by the supernatural power of God.
Overshadowed by God’s healing power, the death sentence on Hezekiah was reversed. The miracle that Hezekiah experienced reversed his health condition and restored time and the throne. Hezekiah was instructed to put his house in order and get ready to die, but his tears and prayers brought Hezekiah under the shadow of the Almighty and healed him. Deteriorating health, dead dreams and dead/(wayward) souls that are overshadowed by God Almighty are rejuvenated, revived and restored.
Is there an evil arm that is stealing the blessings, health and your well-being? Come under the shadow and the resurrected power of Christ.
Overshadowed and Restored:
- Revive: The genetic disease like diabetes, hypertension or chronic illness that has no medical remedy will be healed under the healing shadow of the Almighty God.
- Reverse: Under the shadow of His authority, generational curses are broken, transgressions are forgiven and the consequences of iniquities are reversed.
- Restore: Under the shadow of the Almighty – time, treasures and the throne of Hezekiah was restored and He will do the same for us.
Bloodline curses wither away and consequences are reversed under the shadow of our Great Big Mighty God.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I will dwell in your shadow that reverses incantations and curses into blessings and a promising future. Amen.
