05 Nov 2020 – Currency – Part 3

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.

Trust is another divine currency and heavenly commodity that is treasonable in times of trouble. There is a thin line between faith and trust. Faith is the core belief that “God is able to deliver”, whereas trust is the belief in the core of our being that “God will deliver us”. The struggle that many face is not to believe that the Lord is Almighty and All powerful but to believe that they qualify to receive the miracle. God knows from afar those who trust in Him.  It is the currency of divine trust that unlocks the doors of honour and the miraculous. 2 Chronicle 16:9a For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.

When the multitude witnessed the marvellous miracles that Jesus did, they believed in Him. John 2:23 many believed in His name, when they saw the miracles which He did. The woman who had suffered with the issue of blood for twelve years heard that Jesus touched the eyes of the blind and the lame and they were healed. She heard the Jesus even touched the lepers who were defiled, untouchable outcasts and cleansed them. These testimonies boosted her trust to the next level to believe that power flowed not only from His touch but also from His tapestry. According to the Mosaic Law she was also disqualified and an outcast but she dared to crawl through the crowd to receive her miracle. Jesus saw the ‘tree of trust’ in her heart and traded it with a powerful miracle.

Three hindrances that stunts the ‘seed of faith’ to grow into a strong ‘tree of trust’:

1.     Surrender: We must learn to surrender our perceptions, preconceptions and prejudice. Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Our perception of the resolution to an issue is the biggest barricade to receive the miracle. God does not stick to a pattern of performance; His miraculous surprises are sudden, swift or subtle. Burying the seed of faith under the soil of surrender will spring forth the tree of trust and bring forth the fruit of healing and honour.  Surrender is the down payment to purchase unshakable trust.

2.     Serene: There will be no panic but peace in the safety locker of trust. Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. The greatest turmoil during trouble is the struggle if God will come through for us. The ‘currency of trust’ will purchase the assurance that the blood of Jesus is powerful enough to heal; the name of Jesus is influential enough to resolve and the Word is trustworthy to see us through. Currency of trust purchases serenity and perfect peace.

3.     Steadfast: James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life. We can remain steadfast in trusting him only when we remove the limits on how, what and when God can work the miracle in our lives. When we trade the currency of trust it will outbid the reality, ideology and the philosophy that works against us. Steadfast trust will see His sovereignty over the reality.

Trust is nothing but matured faith that God can do the impossible, impassable and impenetrable miracle for us.  It is the currency of trust that keeps us unshakable, staunch and steadfast in Him.

Hebrews 10:35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.
