19 Dec 2020 – His Name – Part 1

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

More than 100 prophecies of Jesus were fulfilled at His birth.  Prophet Isaiah said, that government, rulership or control will be upon His shoulders. The prophecies were misinterpreted by the literate Jews who expected in anticipation that Jesus would be their earthly King who will overthrow the Romans. Hence they could not accept His humble birth, His simple lifestyle yet His authoritative influence over sin, satan and sickness. There are only two political parties in the spiritual realm, the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Jesus came to crush the demonic and establish the dominion of ‘Kingdom of God’ on earth that was lost by Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. His name is Wonderful. Everything that He said and did while He was on earth was wonderful. The presence and power of Jesus brought surprising “wow moments” of the miraculous to the disciples, followers and Pharisees. The disciples marvelled at His Words of wisdom & knowledge and accepted Him as their Master; the followers were amazed at His healings and miracles; whereas the Pharisees were jealous of His power packed teachings and inspiring influence.

Jesus came to teach us not just to have “wow” moments once in a while but to live in the wonderful miraculous All Powerful influence of His presence.

Three ways to experience the Wonderful Saviour everyday:

1.     Word: We can experience His splendour by munching on His Word. John 6:68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. His Word is the antidote to fear, frustration and frailty. Meditating on scripture will strengthen the core of our faith and help us to experience the power of the written Word. Psalms 19:7b The instructions of the LORD are perfect, reviving the soul. Experience the Wonderful Saviour through His Word.

2.     Work: We can experience Him through miraculous works. In the early years of His ministry Jesus commanded an impure spirit to leave a man who was hiding behind the pews in the synagogue. When the unclean demonic spirit shook him violently and left, The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? (Mark 1:27). No prophets, priests or Pharisees could exorcise demons before Jesus.  It was the arrival of the Messiah that crushed the head of the devil. He has given us the same authority over demons, disease and the dark word. Experience the Wonderful Saviour through His miracle working power.

3.     Wisdom: We can receive supernatural wisdom, knowledge and understanding from the power of the Wonderful Saviour. Jesus knew their thoughts (Luke 6:8). How easy life would be if we can understand the intentions, motives of people and evaluate our intuitions wisely! For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ (Galatians 3:27). The secret to receive His wisdom is to be clothed with the character of Christ through constant communication and humble submission. When we walk with the wonderful Saviour, He will clothe us with divine wisdom, sound judgement and pristine understanding.

His name is Wonderful and His presence brings miraculous “wow moments” in our daily lifestyle. May this festive season be filled with “wow moments”.

Mark 2:12 Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”.

Prayer: Dear Wonderful Jesus, I want to experience your splendour, grandeur and wonder every moment of my life. Let the supernatural become natural and let the “wow moments” become my daily lifestyle. Amen
