23 Dec 2020 – His Name – Part 5

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jesus put on human clothing of flesh and blood to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. The foundation of the Kingdom of God in our hearts and homes is “peace”. When the multitude of angels appeared in the sky to announced the birth of the Messiah, they said, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men (Luke 2:14). The purpose of the birth of Jesus was to fulfil the plan of the Father and the plan of the Father was to re-establish, restore and reinstate peace on earth. For 4,000 years the deceiver the devil had stolen our peace, killed our joy and destroyed our health. However, the birth of Christ established peace, the ministry of Christ restored peace and the death of Christ crushed the thief who stolen our peace. Romans 16:20 God of peace will soon crush satan under your feet. The birth of Christ into our lives will establish peace in our hearts, His influence will restore peace in our path and the authority of the Prince of Peace will destory the devil, destruction and desperation under our feet.

Peace is the pulse that confirms the heartbeat of God.

When the Prince of Peace is on the throne, peace will become our weapon of war, the voice directing our path and the key to our prosperity:

1.     WeaponPeace is the weapon of a warrior. Ephesians 6:15 Your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Peace is the warrior’s shoes that crushes and tramples the snakes and scorpions; anxiety, fear and depression. Caliga, (a heavy-soled military sandal studded with spikes of a Roman solider) was the shoes that the soliders wore to stamp over the fallen enemy. Our enemy the devil is already defeated and peace is the shoes that we wear to trample over the vicious snares and traps of the devil.  When the Prince of Peace is on the throne, we will laugh at the face of calamity and tread on over it victoriously.

2.     Way: Peace is the fuel that ignites the decisions of a believer. If we lose our peace over a decision, it is the nonverbal communication of the Holy Spirit to stop us from proceeding. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts (Colossians 3:15).  Peace is the proof that will confirm the will of God.  Luke 1:79 He will guide us into the path that goes toward peace. Peace is the light in the path of a child of God.

3.     Wealth: Peace is the wealth of the disciple of Christ. James 3:18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.  Every thought, word and deed is a seed. Sowing in righteousness is like cultivating a garden. The seeds of godliness, holiness and truthfulness sown in the soil of peace, will bear much fruits, flowers and fragrance. Bitterness, unforgiveness and deceitfulness will only grow thorns, thistles and sour fruits in the garden of our life. Peace is the manure that will thrive spiritual and material prosperity.

The Prince of Peace will fit us with the shoes of peace on our feet, fuel our decisions with the peace and fill us with His Word to guide us into the path of righteousness .

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Prayer: Prince of Peace, I welcome you to take complete control over my thoughts, tongue and my trajectory. Teach me to trample the plans of the devil with the shoes of peace and guide my thoughts and my path with divine peace. Amen
