05 March 2021 – Details – Part 1

Isaiah 49:16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

God cares about every little detail in our lives. He is a God of details and specifications. The chronological orders, clans, numbers, roles, duties and responsibilities of the different tribes recorded and detailed in the Bible are to help us understand that “He is the God of details, descriptions and graphic design”. It was the Lord God who designed the Ark of Noah and gave him the specs (Genesis 6:15). It was the Divine Master Architect who designed the specifications to build the Ark of Covenant, including the material, texture of the clothing, the covering and colour.  Our compassionate God cares about all the details of our life. He has engraved our every curve, bend and curl in the palm of His hands. Our skin tone, the texture of our hair, the arrangement of our teeth and the shape of our nose were designed by our Divine Maker.

The people in our life are also preordained. We read that Joshua was a faithful assistant to Moses. When Moses was on Mount Sinai for 40 days, Joshua was waiting at the bottom of the hill – his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent (Exodus 33:11b). On the contrary there were some envious cousins of Moses who were swallowed by the earth for rebelling against God’s appointed leader (Moses), yet there were brothers, assistants and associates who walked along with Moses in the journey across the wilderness.

There are no surprises in God’s specs:

1.     People: God who cares about the details of our life has strategically placed us in our families, communities and nations. This means, our mother-in-law is not an accident! She was part of God’s detailed plan. The people who left us and the friends who stayed with us are both part of God’s divine plan. “Letting go means to come to the realization that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.” ― Steve Maraboli. In God’s detailed design, some people come to stay, yet others visit and vanish.

2.     Place: God cares about the country, the community and clan we are born into. This means our nationality, colour or creed were not an accident. Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Before our parents caught the first glimpse of our conception in the womb, God had all the details of our life written in His book. Our life was designed by God before our parents planned our birth. So, let’s stop cribbing about our ethnicity, society or nationality. We have been planted in the community and culture according to God’s divine design.

3.     Profession: God cares about our education, occupation and profession. The Lord taught Moses leadership skills for 40 year in the palace and put him on a seminary training for 40 years in the wilderness which moulded Moses to be the greatest Pastor of all times! Madam Corrie Ten Boom said, “Bloom where you are planted”. God will take care of transplanting us when we are ready. God has planned your career – trust Him.

God cares about the details of our life. Value the people in your life, enjoy your profession and bloom where you are planted. The Master draftsman, designer and architect  has designed every little detail of your life.

Exodus 25:9 You must make it according to all that I show you  —  the pattern of the tabernacle as well as the pattern of all its furnishings.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, nothing in my life has missed your attention. Help me to cherish the people, enjoy the place and value my profession. Amen
