28 September 2021 – Promises & Problems – Part 5

Isaiah 40:29 “He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.”

All promises are backed with divine provision and power. The promise of God gives us access to Godly providence. If He calls us to be a teacher, He would have inbuilt the skills required to be an excellent teacher within us. It is the same for a preacher, prophet or a professional. The seed of excellence is embedded in us along with the promise. Promises show us the end product of the seed that is buried in us. Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to your ancestors, as it is today. He does not give us wealth but the “ability” to produce wealth. He does not scrape the golden pavement of Heaven and drop gold biscuits in our closet but has given us the skills, talents and wisdom to create wealth. Godly providence will open divine doors of opportunities to leverage our capabilities.

God will not give us bread but He will provide with the flour, innovative recipes and a baking oven to bake the most delicious and nutritious breads. Many bang the door of Heaven for bread and miss harnessing the prospects. We have everything that is required to fulfill God’s promise in us. Open the pantry of our heart and start using the treasures hidden within you. When God called Gideon to deliver Israelites from oppression, he was obstinate as he could not see God’s power in the current events. “But if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us?” (Judges 6:13).  However, when he trusted God’s call and commission, his weakness turned into power.

Three steps to reel the divine provisions to fulfill God’s promises:

  1. Believe: Firstly believe. He (Jesus) did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief (Matthew 13:58). To drive out doubt, stop looking at your capacity and focus on God’s ability and authority. Anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:6b). Belief comes when we stop dwelling on our inabilities, mistakes and failures and fixating on God’s nature and authenticity. Believe.
  1. Bake: Secondly – get your hands dirty. Fear stops many from putting their thoughts into action. Use your God-given ability and start with what you have. Start baking, painting, writing and inventing. You have to start blogging before you become an author. Use the old canvas in your garage and paint your imagination. So, start with what you have and start where you are. Start.
  1. Billow: Thirdly – billow or undulate your heart with visions, dreams and actions. When we become visionaries, age, acceptance or abilities cannot be a barrier to our progress. Bloat and float with Godly visions. Then, efforts will turn into energy, which will eventually evolve into entrepreneurship. Fear, insecurity and foreboding will suffocate the promises of God. Billow and boast on God’s abilities.

Godly providence accompanies God-given promises. Until we move in faith, we will not be able to tap into Godly provision. The ability to fulfill God’s promises is inbuilt in us.

Philippians 4:13 I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.

Prayer: Dear Lord, You have given me the ability to produce wealth, to plunder hell and to populate Heaven. Thank you for lavishing me with your wisdom, strength and acumen for fulfilling your promises. Amen.
