Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
A hearty welcome to 2022! You were born to be unstoppable. The enemy fights hard to halt us when he knows that God has something great in store for us. We become unstoppable when we stir up the horsepower of our spiritual engine. Mathematically, horsepower is the force needed to move 550 pounds, one foot in a second, or 33,000 pounds one foot, in a minute. Speed, acceleration and momentum are determined by the horsepower of an engine. The greater the horsepower the swifter the movement.
To pick up momentum in 2022, we must learn to circumspectly ignite the power of the Holy Spirit in us. To increase the horsepower in a car, a ‘turbocharger’ must be installed. This is a supercharger that forces air into the car’s engine and improves the horsepower. Welcoming the supercharger, the Holy Spirit is like installing the turbocharger, to fill and overflow our life with unstoppable power. Unable to articulate ‘the ability of God’ in words, Paul describes it as “exceedingly abundant”. The power of God in us will manifest as supernatural wisdom and boldness immeasurably, quantitatively and qualitatively. They could not stand up against the wisdom the Spirit gave him (Stephen) as he spoke (Acts 6:10). The early church was unstoppable in the midst of severe opposition as they were filled with the power and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. The more room we make for the power of God to operate within us, the more horsepower we will gain to be overcomers.
Three nuggets to become divinely unstoppable:
- Movement: Get unstuck in 2022. Fear paralyzes but faith moves. “Faith means believing in advance what will only make sense in reverse.”- Philip Yancey. Unless we believe that God is able, we will not be empowered. To God, our impassable barriers, incredibly big boulders and incredulously difficult problems are like chaff. God laughs at the meticulous maledicts of the wicked to harm His children. We will move fearlessly when God becomes bigger than our biggest problems. “The more you know God the bigger He becomes” – Chuck Swindoll. Faith is the horsepower for spiritual acceleration.
- Momentum: Get going in 2022. Scientifically increasing the mass or velocity, accelerates and proportionately increases the momentum of the object. No influence, affluence or opulence of man and no diabolically demonic powers from the pit of hell can slow us down when we are filled with the power of God. Beating, battering and bickering could not stop the growth of the early church. A very esteemed wise Pharisee, Gamaliel said, “For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39 “But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God” (Acts 5:38b-39). Fervor gains spiritual momentum.
- Mountaineering: Goad the mountains down in 2022. The horsepower of the Holy Spirit will help us shred mountains. You will be a new threshing instrument with many sharp teeth. You will tear your enemies apart, making chaff of mountains (Isaiah 41:15). Focus accelerates progress.
“The greater the horsepower, the greater the performance.” Horsepower of the Holy Spirit is unstoppable.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit to become unstoppable in my personal, ministerial and professional growth. Amen.
