04 January 2022 – Unstoppable – Part 4

Daniel 6:4 At this, the administrators and the satraps tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.

“The Truth is more powerful than any weapon of mass destruction” – Mahatma Gandhi.  Daniel was both truthful and trustworthy; vigilant and intelligent in his assignments and association hence, no one could fabricate a false claim against him. Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom (Daniel 4:3). Daniel marched up the hierarchy ladder swiftly and became the chief advisor of the king in the Medo-Persian empire. The envious pagan colleagues tried ruse charges against Daniel but there was no corruption, contempt nor carelessness in him. Hence they coined a crafty scheme against his prayer and faith life. The royal administrators, prefects, satraps, advisers and governors have all agreed that the king should issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, except to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions’ den (Daniel 6:7).

In the Mesopotamian and Babylonian architecture the windows were not only designed for ventilation but also for view. Windows were as wide and big as doors.  Daniel did not hide his faith in his prayer closet or behind closed curtains. He made it public and boldly stood his stand in a nation corroded by idolatry, paganism and  immorality. Daniel testified that the testament of God’s Word prevails over the political or pagan referendums. In the millennium, fidelity prevails over the legalized prostitution or abortion.   Daniel took three breaks during his busy schedule, board meetings, conferences or conventions to commune with God. The decree did not intimidate or interrupt Daniel’s worship schedule. Even though the envious entourage threw Daniel into the lion’s den, His faith and faithfulness brought him out alive, elevated and  enlarged. When Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God (Daniel 6:23). “Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a while, but it ain’t going anywhere” – Elvis Presley.

Truth is unstoppable:

  1. Wield: The manipulations of the magicians could not stand against truth. No wielding, wily or wickedness can break the shield of truth. The sword of truth will break the walls of false testimonies, malign and slur. Wield deception with the sword of truth.
  1. Wild: The wild ferocious hungry lions could not touch Daniel. My God sent his angel, and He shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in His sight (Daniel 6:22). Truth shields our family, fame or finance from the devouring beasts or bestiality. Wild demonic beasts cannot overpower the shield of truth.
  1. Whip: The whip that the condescending administrators used against Daniel turned back at them. At the king’s command, the men who had falsely accused Daniel were brought in and thrown into the lions’ den (Daniel 6:24). Truth may hurt for a while but lies hurt forever. Truth turns a whip into a witness.

“The way to correct wrongs, is to flash the light of truth on it”.

Ephesians 5:9 For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth.

Prayer: Pappa God, help me to light up the dark world with truthfulness and trustworthiness. Amen.
