07 January 2022 – Unstoppable – Part 7

Daniel 3:17-18 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. 18 But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

“Winners don’t quit, and quitters don’t win” – Vince Lombardi.  Perseverance is the fuel that keeps the vision of the mission burning. If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small (Proverbs 24:10). “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up” – Thomas Edison. Those who have a winning attitude are indomitable, undefeatable and unstoppable.

Biblical historians believe that King Nebuchadnezzar builtan ostentatious image made out of pure solid gold, from the wealth looted from the temple at Jerusalem. The flamboyance of the image represented the embodiment of his self-promoted diabolical power. At the sound of musical instruments all the people in the Babylonian empire had to worship the deity. Likewise, the formidable voice of the enemy to quit and give-up will sound louder than the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.  The Hebrew boys had made a resolute resolution not to compromise their faith and bow down to egotism and despotism of the pagan ritual . Hence they were threatened to be burnt in the furnace, but the threats could not trick or tumble the tenacious boys to fall into the trap of quitting. They were willing to burn rather than quitting or bowing.

If you have failed or forgotten your new year’s resolution, don’t quit. It’s only day 7 – Keep persevering;  It’s not too late to start again.

Three secrets to become unstoppable:

  1. Train: Train, don’t try. When we try to stop eating junk, start a prayer routine or exercise, we will fail. Don’t try, train your mind, systematize your day and set the alarm. Our daily routine doesn’t start when we wake up, it starts when we go to bed the previous night. Wake up to a well planned organized schedule. Disciplining our mind, training our thoughts and schooling our schedule makes us unstoppable.  Train, don’t try.
  1. Technique: Overcome tricks with techniques. Don’t go to places that will force you to make wrong choices – be it the kitchen-cabinet or the bar-cabinet. Eating healthy, walking and reading are not inborn traits, they are disciplined techniques birthed out of training and not quitting. The technique to early morning prayer routine is “Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” – Benjamin Franklin.  Procrastination is not a training technique.
  1. Tests: Thrash the crafty tricks of the devil to thaw our enthusiasm. The faith of the Hebrew boys was tested with a ‘life or death’ decision. Our tenacity will be tested by persuasive conversations, cryptic impulsive conclusions or even by a bag of cookies! Even if you fall or fail, get up, dust your back and get going. Quitting is not an option.

Those who refuse to quit can never be stopped. The fiery furnace nor the fury of the king could not persuade the Hebrew boys. Quitters can never be winners.

Psalm 18:29 With You I can attack a barrier, and with my God I can leap over a wall.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, with you I can climb mountains, swim seas and leap over a chasm. Empower me with the tenacity to keep going and to never quit. Amen.
