Music is the mode of communication between the celestial and terrestrial, the visible and invisible, the natural and spiritual. When the Lord God created the innumerable galaxies and angels burst forth in ecstatic songs of joy! In fact Lucifer, the devil, was an anointed cherub (archangel) and was in-charge of the music and the musicians before he was expelled from Heaven. The workmanship of your tabrets (timbrels) and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created (Ezekiel 28:13b). Tabrets are small drums and pipes are tubes that produce tones by blowing air through them (like the pipe organ). The percussion instruments and wind instruments were built into his very being. This is why Lucifer, the devil, controls and contorts the mind using music.
As much as good music edifies the soul, the wrong rhythms can invite uninvited demonic guests to manipulate our mind and body. Voodoo rituals and drumbeats are characterized by sorcery and spiritual possession. Voodoo has its roots from the tabrets or drumbeats of the fallen angel, the devil. Music is the universal language of the spiritual world. Even if we don’t understand the language of voodoo or mantra, dancing to the drumbeats of the disco clubs allows demonic intrusions.
This is why Paul exhorts the Ephesians, who were steeped in sorcery, to inculcate the language of Heaven in their conversations. Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Ephesians 5:19). Ephesus worshipped Artemis a pagan deity of fertility. A number who had practiced sorcery brought their scrolls together and burned them publicly (Acts 19:19a). To protect the Ephesians from being repossessed by the ritualistic and superstitious beliefs, Paul advised them to sing and speak psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
Music is the universal celestial language:
1. Music: Music connects us with the spiritual world. Hence beware of the music that is played in your homes. New doors that the demons use to control our minds are ear pods, Ipads and I-phones. Check your playlist. Music can invite angels or entertain demons.
- Melody: Paul explicitly advises, making melody in your heart to the Lord. Melody of our hearts are the hums or the vibrations of the soul. Our spirit can be singing praises even during a busy day or in deep sleep. Our meditations turn into groans or songs. Melody changes the atmosphere around us.
- Mode: Paul defines the songs that enlighten the soul. “Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs” delineates the playlist that we should be listening to. Spiritual songs just mean non-carnal music that is not perverted or seductive. It could include Mozart’s piece of symphony or Beethoven’s piano sonata. Pleasant music that is not carnal or sensual are categorized as spiritual songs. Music is a mode to invite the presence of God or a medium to unite with the satanic ghetto. Music is a mode of connection with the celestial.
Music is the universal extraterrestrial language.
