13 March 2022 – Miraculous March – Part 2

Genesis 18:11-12 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?”

Miracles cannot be understood by medical evidence or logical analysis. Miracles are the power of God rejuvenating bodies, rewiring minds, resetting finances, reversing curses, rebuilding marriages, rebounding health, reuniting families and reinstating us back to a position that our human brain will not be able to grasp. The second mandate for experiencing a miracle is to override our logical thinking.

Grandma Sarah was eavesdropping on the conversation of the three angelic visitors with Abraham from the tent and she laughed at the prophecy that she would have a baby next year. Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” (Genesis 18:13-14).  Sarah was trying to make logical sense to the prophetic message. Rational reasoning and miraculous manifestations do not work well together. Coherent thinking is essential but commonsense and the supernatural are opposites. Women stop bearing babies by the age of 45. The average age that most women go into menopause is 55 but Sarah was 90! Child bearing age was long gone and menopause was long forgotten. Yet, God could revitalize the dead womb of Sarah. Medically it is nonsensical but miraculously it made perfect sense. Is anything too hard for the Lord?.

Mandate-2: Miracles are beyond logical understanding.

1.     Logic: Miracles start with a promise and a prophecy. The promise of God will make no rational sense to the catastrophe that we are experiencing. God will promise to turn our barrenness to fruitfulness. The prophecy to restore our career after months or years of unemployment, a promise of peace in the midst of pandemonium, the promise to cancel debt, curses or contempt: all of these would sound illogical. Miracles cannot be experienced or enjoyed by logical reasoning.

2.     Magic: A miracle is not magic. Only the needy will enjoy miracles, not the nasty antagonist or notorious sorcerers. The Pharisees and Sadducees asked for a sign to believe in Jesus. Jesus refused to perform a magic-show to prove that He is the Messiah. Miracles don’t prove God, Miracles manifest the supremacy of God over our dreadful impossible circumstance. A miracle is not a magic-show but the manifestation of the power of God.

  1. Panic: There is no panic or perturbations to those who wait on God for a miracle. Delay doesn’t cause doubt, discouragement or disbelief. “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Romans 4:3). The stimuli for a miracle is total trust and rest on God’s promises. The promises of God will drive out panic and speedup miracles.

Mandate 2 – overcome logical reasoning to experience the awaited miracle. March into a miraculous March.

Genesis 18:14b “I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Prayer: Father God, You are the God of miracles. May my logic never nullify your miraculous manifestations in my life.  Amen.
