22 August 2022 – Praise-Breaks – Part 2

2 Chronicle 20:21b “Give thanks to the Lord, for his love endures forever.”

Praise is a powerful weapon. Praise is our divine ammunition when we are stifled with threats or smell danger. Praise drives away fear and destroys the foe.

“When you praise God you destroy the obstacles satan puts in your way. Praise sets you up for a miracle!”

― Terry Law.

Praising God after receiving the miracle is the expression of gratitude but praising God before we see the breakthrough, in the middle of the mess and in the midst of the muddle is an act of faith. When we are enthralled by the love of God we can never be entrapped by the troubles of life. When unpredicted problems swell up like the mighty waves, we must sing, mightier than the thunder of the great waters, mightier than the breakers of the sea— the Lord on high is mighty (Psalm 93:4). Praise glorifies God higher than the lofty mountains, mightier than the ginormous waves and greater than the lethal giants.

The Israelites led by Miriam and Moses sang songs of praise after the Lord God rescued them from the ferocious hands of the Pharaoh. However, King Jehoshaphat praised God even before he commissioned his army to go for the battle. He congregated the worship team to precede his army and as they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab (2 Chronicles 20:22). We must understand a very important truth of praising God before we see the victory. Reverse logic positions the angelic hosts to attack and annihilate the wistful enemy. Praise is their siren for the angelic combatants to invade and obliterate the adversary. Praise unleashes the angelic helpers.  .

Praise is a powerful weapon:

1.     Problem: Crush the cacophony with praise. King Jehoshaphat encouraged the people to rout the enemy with praise. Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful (2 Chronicles 20:20b). Look over the indomitable economic crisis, health report and financial crunch into the enormity of God’s provision. Overcome the problem with praise.

2.     Promise: Use the promises of God to praise Him. Quote God’s word back to Him in your prayer. Jehoshaphat’s prayer was a sonnet of praise, “Lord, the God of our ancestors, are you not the God who is in heaven?” (Vs 5). So, let’s stop pleading and start singing praises

3.     Plunder: Praising in the middle of a bad prognosis, fearful diagnosis or analysis makes the wind of favour to blow wealth and health towards us. There was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it (Vs 25b). Praise brings showers of fortune, fitness and favour towards us. So, let’s stop fretting and start praising.

Praise petrifies the enemy and plunders the enemy’s camp.

1 Chronicles 20:26 On the fourth day they assembled in the Valley of Berakah, where they praised the Lord.

Prayer: God of the heavens and the earth, may my eyes be upon You and not on my problems. I will praise my way through the problem and plunder great spoils. Amen.
