09 September 2022 – Who is God? – Part 6

Genesis 16:13 “You are [El-Roi] a God of seeing. Truly, here I have seen Him who looks after me”

The Almighty God never takes His eyes away from His children. He is the God who sees, ‘El-Roi’. He is Omnipresent. He is with us in the same viscosity that He is on the other end of the earth. All of Him is present in every place that seeks Him with their whole heart. “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt. 18:20). His presence is very real when we praise and worship Him sincerely. He dwells and lives in the adorations of His saints.  The praises of Israel are your throne (Psalm 22:3).

God’s eyes are watching us even when we are not aware of His presence. The pregnant slave girl Hagar fled from her mistress Sarah, who was mistreating her. But, The angel of the Lord found Hagar near a spring in the desert (Genesis 16:7). An Egyptian slave who did not even know the living God had a divine encounter. If God’s eyes are on those whose hearts are far away from Him, how much more watchful would His eyes be on us who love Him? She named Him El-Roi for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.”

God is watching over everything that we cannot see or hear. He is listening to the plots that are planned against us and the slur that is spit on us. God is our just judge. Nothing misses His eyes.

Our God is El-Roi, the God who sees us:

1.     Invigilator: God’s eyes are watching over our affairs. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him (2 Chronicles 16:9). Not a hair from our head can fall without His permission. Nothing can hurt or harm us when we live within the circle of obedience. God is our watchful invigilator.

2.     Investigator: God is investigating the injustice and the prejudice that we have suffered or are suffering. I, the LORD, love justice! But I hate robbery and injustice (Isaiah 61:8). When we allow God to be the just judge over the wrongness, His justice will rain down from heaven and consume the unjust. God is our investigator and judge.

3.     Intercessor: God is our intercessor arbitrating justice for us. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us (Romans 8:34). When God is our intercessor, even if the whole world and all of hell turns against us, we will win and overcome.

El-Roi is watching over us. Be God conscious always. He is watching over us even when we are not aware.

1 Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”

Prayer: God my El-Roi, thank you for watching over me day and night. Nothing can harm me as long as I rest under your mighty shelter. Amen
