12 September 2022 – Grace – Part 2

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

“God’s Grace” is divine enablement. “Grace” can be understood as God’s strength over our weakness, and vulnerability. It is God’s energy that overtakes our human limitations and His power to overcome worldly and demonic attacks. God’s grace will make the weak strong and the fool wise. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.  God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him (1Corinthians 1:27-29). Hence ‘Grace’ is the divine enablement to the innocent, illiterate and imprudent to be transformed into influential leaders and world changers. A small group of spirit filled untrained, uneducated and inexperienced followers of Christ turned the world upside down as they were endowed with divine power and grace. “These men who have turned the world upside down have now come here” (Acts 17:6b).

Grace is the divine enablement that our heavenly father gives to those who accept Him and audaciously follow Him. Grace enables the addict to overcome drugs, drinks and dregs of the past to give them a new destiny. Grace empowers us with divine strength to defeat wasting disease, fever and inflammation. Grace energizes us with new hope, renewed faith and refined vision to go forward.

“Grace is the voice that calls us to change, and then gives us the power to pull it off” – Max Lucado.

God’s Grace is divine enablement:

1.     Enabling: God’s grace enables us to overcome our bad behavior, bloodline curses and bitter past. God’s grace enables us to live holy lives. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time (2 Timothy 1:9). Grace enables.

2.     Empowering: God’s grace empowers us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people (Acts 6:8). Stephen the first martyr was clothed with grace and power that empowered him to perform signs and wonders. Grace prepares us to be a channel to overflow the wonder working power of God through our lives. Grace empowers.

3.     Energizing: God’s grace bolsters us with divine energy. It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods, which is of no benefit to those who do so (Hebrews 13:8). God’s grace will make the weak say ‘I am strong’, the poor say ‘I am rich’ and the broken say ‘I am blessed’. Grace empowers.

Grace is a divine enablement to live holy, victorious and overcoming lives.

Ephesians 4:7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

Prayer: Gracious Father, give me the grace to overcome all my weaknesses, shortcomings and sickness. Enable me, empower me and energize me with new grace to run my race victoriously. Amen
