24 September 2022 – Seven Keys – Part 7

Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God.

“Patience and diligence like faith, remove mountains” – William Penn

Diligence is patient, careful and persistent conscientious work or effort. If we diligently walk in holiness and godliness, blessings will automatically follow us. Diligence brings wholeness to life. The patterns of losses, delays, divorce, chronic illness, barrenness, accidents or early death can be reversed if we choose to diligently listen to the voice of the Lord. When we walk circumspectly in the ways of the Lord, the blood of Jesus will mark and move us from curses to blessings. The blood is like a scarlet thread that weaves into every aspect of our life to sanctify and purify us.

Both blessings and curses are passed on from generation to generation. I will bring the curse of a father’s sins upon even the third and fourth generation of the children of those who hate me (Deuteronomy 5:9). Many times we might not even know the cause of the curse. However we need not live under the darkness of curse. If we choose righteousness over injustice and godliness over wickedness, God is gracious to brighten the colour of the canvas of our lives. He is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments (Deuteronomy 7:9). His anger lasts only for four generations but His compassion for those who diligently seek Him for a thousand generations!

Rahab was a prostitute in the city of Jericho who chose to diligently follow the one true living God. Her decision transfused holiness into her generation and grafted her bloodline into the family line of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). Rahab and her posterity were forgiven of the sensual sins and the evil spiritual pagan practices as she chose to diligently follow the Lord.

7th Key to turn curses into blessings:

1.     Accept: Rahab accepted the God of Israel. For the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on the earth below (Joshua 2:11b). Many don’t see the breakthrough as Jesus is one among many gods to them.  Others don’t break free from curse because they pay more attention to the predictions of people rather than precepts of God.  Accepting Christ Jesus and His Word breaks curses and cultivates blessings.

2.     Accentuate: Rahab tied a scarlet thread on the window of her house. Our faith and our fervor for Christ must be highlighted not hidden. We must not slip away from a slander or mockery but have the courage to speak up and stop it. Accentuate Christ and destroy curses.

3.     Asylum: Rahab and her family had to stay within the house that had the scarlet thread, to be protected from destruction. We have the blood protection only when we consciously walk righteously. Disobedience, bitterness, unforgiveness and any other stubborn willful sins will open the gate for the enemy to ravage our lives. Remain in the asylum and safe haven of the ‘blood protection’.

Diligently following the word and the voice of the Lord turns curses into blessings.

Hebrews 11:6 He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may I be the Rahab in my generation to bring my family and my posterity into blessings. I commit to diligently listen to your voice. Amen
