04 February 2023 – Divine Weaponry – Part 7

Ephesians 6:17b the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Word of God is our offensive weapon. God’s Word is our weapon to defeat the enemy. “Satan’s greatest weapon is man’s ignorance of God’s Word”. God’s Word is the most powerful weapon to destroy the diabolical ghetto. This is why our mind goes meandering, our stomach starts growling and the phone starts ringing the moment we take our Bible to read. The devil thrives on our ignorance. Once we take God’s Word seriously he cannot attack us with fear, insecurity or low self-esteem.

The Word of God is the oxygen in our lungs and the blood in our heart that keeps us alive and agile. When the demons insinuate that we are all alone and have no one to speak for us or save us, we must retaliate to the demonic voice that God has promised, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” (Hebrews 13:5b). When the enemy injects the poison of insecurity about the uncertainty ahead of us, we must attack back with the sword of Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. When our body is weary and our mind wants to quit we must retort “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

God’s word is like releasing a gunshot or a missile against the intimidating and demeaning thoughts that kill faith. As we keep firing God’s Word and His promises over and over again, the demon of depression will flee from us. Demons are terrorized at the atomic weapon of the Word of God.

Use the sword, the Word of God to destroy the enemy:

1. Energy: Repeating all the promises of God over our future, our spouse, children, ministry and career every day or few times a day is like drinking an energy drink. Energy drinks contain legal stimulants that can increase alertness, attention, energy, as well as increase blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing. God’s Word and His promises have the same effect on the soul and spirit. It stimulates alertness against the deceptions of the devil, sharpens our attention to God’s voice and pumps our spirit with God-energy. Drink God’s Word few times a day to boost your heart rate.

2. Empower: Ruminating on God’s promises opens our spiritual eyes to divine help. Reverberating the promises of God drives the demons into hiding. As we speak His Word boldly even in a bleak  circumstance, divine angels will automatically fortify our territory. God’s Word bolsters us with divine empowerment and faith.

3. Eliminate: Regurgitating the promises of God illuminates our spirit and soul. We will start seeing the crucible circumstance through the eyes of God. Once our heart is enlightened with the Word of God, the demonic forces and voices will be eliminated and annihilated.

Pick up the sword, the Word of God.

Hebrews 4:12a For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword.

Prayer: Sovereign God, I will take up the sword, Your Word, and defeat demeaning thoughts and the destructive forces that intimidate me. Amen
