18 April 2023 – Because – Part 3

Psalm 91:14 “Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

The mighty deliverance of the Lord flows through freely because we love Him. His sovereign protection is on us because we acknowledge His name. We need not cry for deliverance from evil plots, conniving crooks and backstabbing betrayals. His rescue and protection are the inheritance of God’s children who love Him. What does it mean to love God? Human love is extremely subjective. It is subjective to feelings, tastes, mood swings and opinions. Those who love us today can turn into enemies tomorrow as love that we share with humans is ‘subjective’; but not so with God. God loves us unconditionally. Nothing that we do can diminish God’s love for us. Likewise, when we love Him, no matter what we are going through, we have the impenetrable canopy of God’s army to rescue us.  Knowing and acknowledging the most powerful name of Jesus, is our protection. There is healing, courage, provision, new-beginnings, freedom, restoration, reconciliation in the name of Jesus. Speaking the name of Jesus influences every area of our life.

Elisha was surrounded by the army of the enemy but it did not intimidate him. “Do not be afraid,” Elisha answered, “for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” (2 Kings 6:16). Elisha was unshaken by the news on social media. His closeness with the Lord helped Him to understand the heart of God. The closer we get to God the deeper our insight will be about His incredible love for us. No matter what happens, we will not doubt His love or His power. The closer we get to His throne, the more we will acknowledge the power of His name.

Because we love Him and know the power of His name we have:

1.     Peace: Peace is the byproduct of trust and unshakable love. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you (Isaiah 26:3). Elisha’s servant was petrified but Elisha was at peace because He knew God would rescue them. If we lose our peace when we hear threatening news about our health, job or children, check the viscosity of your love for God.

2.     Protection: Protection is in the name of Jesus. When we have no words to pray, the most powerful prayer to pray is the name of Jesus. The name of Jesus will break shackles and shatter the demonic fearful layers of darkness. Pronounce the name of Jesus and intensify the angelic protection.

3.     Provision: Provision comes from God as our providence is in Him. There were more angelic soldiers around Elisha to protect him than the enemy’s army. God knows what we need and how much we need more than what our accounting brains can compute and calculate.

Because we love Him, He rescues us from the enemy and because we know the power of His name, He protects us from all harm.

1 John 4:19 We love, because he first loved us.

Prayer: Sovereign God, tutor my frail and fragile heart to love you unwaveringly and lift up the most powerful name of Jesus at all times. Help me to tap into the secret of peaceful living.  Amen
