17 May 2023 – Power of Proclamation – Part 4

1 Samuel 17:8&10 8 Goliath stood and shouted to the ranks of Israel, “Why do you come out and line up for battle…Choose a man and have him come down to me…10 Then the Philistine said, “This day I defy the armies of Israel!”

The occult taps into the power of proclamation by pronouncing cures and repeating charms. To control or hurt a person, household or a community, words of proclamations or spells are used by sorcerers. Magical words are released to trouble and traumatize. Even a land and its produce can be cursed. The Lord has given us authority over any curse pronounced from the depth of hell. He who foils the signs of false prophets and makes fools of diviners, who overthrows the learning of the wise and turns it into nonsense (Isaiah 44:25). The Lord frustrates the signs pronounced by the false prophets and turns the wisdom of the diviners, sorcerers and astronomers into foolishness. We have the authority in our tongue to annul, revoke and return the curse spoken against us back to the enemy’s territory (Luke 10:19).

Goliath the giant used the power of proclamation to intimidate the Israelite army. He defied the fighting men day after day. Every morning they would wake up hearing the curses and the challenges of Goliath, however, none of them understood that they had the power of revocation and retaliation against the menacing enemy. However, the daunting threats of Goliath did not threaten David the young teenager. And the Philistine cursed David by his gods (vs 43). David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied (vs 45). Even before the pebble from the slingshot of David struck and killed Goliath, he defeated the giant with the power of proclamation. Defeat the curses of witchcraft, black magic, sorcery or envy with the power of proclamation.

Proclamations cancel the curses pronounced against us:

1.     Threat: The demonic force invades into our territory by intimidation and fear. Demons inflict fearful thoughts and control our lives. If we engage in the threats injected through our thoughts we will unknowingly open doors for demonic incursion. David overthrew the threatening giant by declaring his faith out loud. Pronounce God’s promises to annul the curse.

2.     Torture: Fear tortures and kills faith. “Fear is worse than cancer, fear is worse than torture.” ― Bryant McGil. Praise in turn taunts demons. When fear grips, start praising, and the intimidating spirits will flee.

3.     Testify: David testified what God had done in the past and confidently declared that He will do it again. Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them (vs 36). Testify the power of the Almighty and overcome fear.

Defeat the threats of the demonic by proclaiming the praises of our God.

Mark 16:18 They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, equip me to defeat the demeaning threats of the enemy with the power of proclamation. Amen.
