18 May 2023 – Power of Proclamation – Part 5

1 Kings 8:24 You have kept your promise to your servant David my father; with your mouth you have promised and with your hand you have fulfilled it—as it is today.

Power of proclamation is not a ‘name it and claim it’ principle. Just running around the field declaring that you are flying does not make wings grow on our backs. Power of proclamation is activating God’s promises through proclamation. Trusting God for His Word and remaining steadfast in faith that God will fulfill His word is the power of proclamation. Every time we speak out a promise, we are activating the miracle working power of God. God is a promise keeper to those who proclaim and prophecy His Word. The Lord fulfilled His promise to Abraham and established the nation of Israel. The Lord fulfilled His promise to David and King Jesus was born in the family of David. The everlasting throne of Jesus the King cannot be shaken. “I am watching over my word to perform it” (Jeremiah 1:12b). Our part is to proclaim His promises and God’s part is to do the supernatural and fulfill His promise.

There will be power behind our proclamation only when it is backed up with truth. The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them; but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming (Psalm 37:12-13). Malevolent people plot and pronounce evil on the benevolent but God laughs at their proclamations. When it was day, the Jews made a plot and bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul (Acts 23:12). The Lord God mocks at the proclamations and declarations of the arrogant, haughty and malicious. Those who went on hunger strike to kill Paul would have either died of dehydration or would have broken their strike as the Lord preserved the life of Paul. Heaven backs up the proclamation of truth and the promises of God.

Power behind the promises:

1.     Pleading: Many plead God for petty things. For your Father knows what things ye have need of, before you ask him (Matthew 6:8b). Don’t beg, plead or implore. Pray bold prayers pronouncing and announcing God’s promises to come to fruition.

2.     Petitions: Many repeat their petitions day after day. But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do (Matthew 6:7). Rather than repeating our petitions we must repeat and reiterate God’s promises over our crucial circumstance, children, family or finances.

3.     Prayer: Make the promises of God your prayer. Use the Word of God to formulate your prayer.  Write down the promises, repeat them day after day. “I create the fruit of the lips” (Isaiah 57:19a). God uses our words to create and mould our victory, success and progress. God shapes our destiny by the faith proclamations or the fruit of our lips. Pray and proclaim the promises.

God’s promises are ignited with power as we proclaim.

1 Kings 8:56b Not one word has failed of all the good promises He gave through his servant Moses.

Prayer: Father God, you are the King of the heavens and the earth. There is nothing impossible with thee. Amen.
