28 May 2023 – Impossible – Part 1

Luke 18:27 “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!” – Audrey Hepburn

‘Impossibility’ is not a negative word in the dictionary of a believer and follower of Christ. ‘Impossible’ reiterates the resounding promise of God – ‘with Me all things are possible’. As Hepburn says, the word ‘impossible’ says ‘I’m possible’. Impossibilities must excite a child of God. When it is impossible with human strength, wisdom and power, it opens the door for the supernatural to make it possible.

Impossibility is an opportunity to tap into the supernatural power of God. An incurable diagnosis, dead dream, rejection or financial challenge is not an obstacle but an opportunity for God’s supernatural power to manifest.  Bible Scholars believe that the Virgin Mary was a naïve young teenager who would have been around 14 years of age. “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” (Luke 1:34). In ancient times girls were betrothed as teenagers. She was perplexed with the news that Gabriel brought to her that God was going to use her womb to bring the Messiah into the world yet, she believed. God does not want our human knowledge or analysis; He is looking for a simple child-like faith for God’s supernatural power in the impossibility.

Impossibilities are not obstacles but opportunities:

1.     Problems: Are you facing a problem that is challenging and appears to be impossible. Get excited. It’s time for God’s supernatural miraculous power to penetrate and shatter the impossibility.  We serve a BIG God and nothing is bigger than Him. Our impossible problem is no bigger than the size of a tiny pebble to our God. See your impossible problems as God’s minuscule pebbles.

2.     Perplexed: The probabilities to problems will perplex our little brains. Mary was perplexed yet she yielded to the promise and the power of God. “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you” (Luke 1:35a).  Our money cannot buy healing for an incurable diagnosis and degrees, higher education or extensive experience cannot find solutions to an impossible situation. Only faith can. Faith doesn’t think logically. Don’t confuse human limitation with the unlimited power of God. We serve a God who thrives on churning the impossibilities into supernatural possibilities.

3.     Power: God’s eyes are looking for impossibilities to release His miracle-working, supernatural power. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9). The supernatural power of God turns the impossibility into a testimony.

Impossibilities are not an obstacle but an opportunity for the supernatural. Problems are the platform for the power of God to be manifested.

Matthew 19:26 With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me to look at impossibilities as opportunities of your supernatural power to be released in my life. Amen.
