30 May 2023 – Impossible – Part 3

Hebrews 11:6 “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”

It is abnormal for a Christian not to have an appetite for the impossible. It has been written into our spiritual DNA to hunger for the impossibilities around us, to bow at the name of Jesus – Bill Johnson

It is impossible to please the heart of God without an appetite for the impossibilities. Faith is not to trust God for what we can do but believing God to perform the impossible that we cannot do. Faith is not dictating terms as to how and when He should fulfill His promise but to be at rest in the most restless situation that God is in absolute control. Faith will whisper “The Lord protects the unwary; when I was brought low, He saved me. Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” (Psalm 116:6-7). God takes pleasure in us when we trust Him like little children unwaveringly and unceasingly.

The list of the ‘Hall of Faith’ in Hebrews 11 is an unending list in the Book of Life in heaven. There are heroes and heroines added to the list every day. Anyone who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and trusts Him for the impossibilities to become possible in His name is added to the record as ‘Heroes of Faith’. When we look beyond reality into the realm of the supernatural the impossibilities dissipate into thin air.  Hunger for the impossibility is a sign of spiritual growth.

Dr. Jennifer Williams in ‘Nutrition News’ talks about “increased appetite” as the major signs of growth spurts during puberty. Likewise an unquenchable hunger to tap into the supernatural power of God and see the impossibilities bow down in the name of Jesus is a sign of spiritual growth. This spiritual hunger not only pleases God but also keeps us spiritually vibrant, verdant and youthful even at 80! They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing (Psalm 92:14).

Believe God for the impossible:

1.     Unshakable: Don’t let threats or fear shake the truth “that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek him”. He is the God over the impossibilities that we are facing. Confront the challenge that is coagulating your nerves. Stand Up unshakably and unswervingly.

2.     Unfavorable: God is in the business of making a distinction between His children and the people of the world. So the same unfavourable situation will yield a hundredfold reward to those who trust in God, but will impoverish the worldly and cowardly.

3.     Untouchable: God will set a table of honour in the eyes of our enemies but we will be beyond their reach. The enemy will not be able to touch or harm a man/woman who trusts God for the impossibilities.

We have the hunger to trust God for the impossible in our DNA. Feed on it.

Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us

Prayer: Father God, help me to warm Your heart by trusting You tenaciously for the impossible. Amen.
