Colossians 3:9 Don’t lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds.
The lying demons that steal the truth are rampant in this world. Lies and deceptions have infiltrated the human mind to an extent that truth sounds like a foreign unknown language to the world. Immoral lifestyles, fornication and adultery are no more obnoxious sins but have become the way of life. There is no ‘fear of God’ or ‘sin consciousness’ as truth has been eroded. As the Word of God was rejected in the parliament and schools, prisons and hospitals have become overcrowded. My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children (Hosea 6:4). Hate, violence, gangsterism and terrorism is raging and devouring unity, love, peace and truth.
Even many in the churches believe theologies that are convenient and suit their compromising lifestyles. He then brought me into the inner court of the house of the LORD, and there at the entrance to the temple, between the portico and the altar, were about twenty-five men. With their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east, they were bowing down to the sun in the east (Ezekiel 8:16). Twenty-five young men were in the temple but they had their backs to the truth, they were bowing down to the sun god!
Idolatry, legalism and paganism have made themselves comfortable in the pews and swallowed holiness, purity and the truth. This is why many denominations struggle to speak boldly about sin. Christians and leaders of churches who compromise on gender confusion, LGBT or any law against the principles of the Bible are lukewarm. So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you (Revelation 3:16b). God will spew those who live lukewarm-compromising lives.
“When it’s uncomfortable, when it’s unpopular, even when it’s dangerous to speak the truth is the precise time when the truth should be spoken.”
The deceiving lying demons can be destroyed with three tests:
1. Compromise: If we want to be politically correct always, most certainly we have compromised on the truth. When you have to start compromising your morals for the people around you, it’s probably time to change the people around you.” It’s ok to be an enemy to liars and deceivers.
2. Complacency: Complacency makes us too comfortable to confront deception. Complacency about our past success makes us too comfortable and breeds spiritual, moral and social failure.
3. Comfortable: Truth is not the ‘easy-way’ but the ‘right-way’. Speaking the truth might put us in an uncomfortable conversation but compromise is not the answer.Put our choices to the test.
Don’t try to convince the lying demons; confront them. Pass the test of compromise, complacency and comfort and defeat deception.
Zachariah 8:16 These are the things which you should do: speak the truth to one another; judge with truth and judgment for peace in your gates.
Prayer: Father God, may your Word burn like a fire in my heart that it might burn the lies and deception that I see and hear around me. Amen.
