Haggai 1:6 You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.”
There are demonic thieves who steal our harvest and hard work. No matter how frugal we are, if we find ourselves always in want there are invisible demonic hands that are stealing from our bank account. Wealth, money and gold can be locked up in a safe, but the safety lockers will be like bags with holes. “Unexpected expenses”, “unforeseen costs” or “unpredicted loss” in a repetitive pattern is a financial curse. God does not want us to live impoverished, broke and needy. Both ‘prosperity theory’ as well as ‘poverty mentality’ are wrong theologies. We don’t seek God to become affluent and opulent but at the same time, it is wrong to believe that the King’s kids should live below the poverty line. A pattern of financial lack could have a maledict, generation curse or an invisible stealing demonic hand that has to be broken.
When you are swamped with unexpected expenses and repeated losses, go on a fasting and prayer to break the financial curse. Financial curse is a hole in the bag that gives access to the demonic hands to rob our inheritance. The cause could be a bloodline generation curse or even our own disobedience. God will break the curse when we humble ourselves in fasting and prayer.
Break the invisible demonic stealing hands:
1. Steal: Those who struggle to tithe and give back to God what belongs to Him invite demons to steal the money that they have hoarded. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! (Malachi 3:10). If we are honest in our giving to God, He will rebuke the devourer and locusts from coming near our blessings and bank account.
2. Stingy: The generous who lend to the poor are investing in the Divine investment fund. When you help the poor you are lending to the Lord—and he pays wonderful interest on your loan! (Proverbs 19:17).
3. Swallow: Sin and rebellion brought famine and consuming locusts into the land that swallowed their produce. You will sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because the locusts will consume it. (Deuteronomy 28:37). Sulking when a promotion slips away does not help, but fasting will drive away the devourer.
A pattern of financial or business loss and the stealing invisible demonic hands must be broken by fasting, repentance, and prayer.
Malachi 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to identify the invisible stealing hands and break them with fasting and prayer. Lord rebuke the devourer for me. Amen.
