14 January 2024 – Be Real – Part 7

Joshua 7:22 So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and there it was, hidden in his tent, with the silver underneath.

Actions speak louder than words. Newton’s Third Law on force says, “Every action (force) in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Newton’s Laws are Biblical principles translated to the natural world but they are more real in the spiritual than the natural. At times the spiritual repercussions are not evident as they are not apparent to the naked eyes. However, time will reveal the effects, consequences and outcomes of our actions. Actions must be a result of uncontaminated clean intentions in order to unlock divine blessings.

“Every action in the natural, has a divine reaction in the supernatural.”

Exceptional generosity and excellent good works do not pay the ticket to heaven. Good deeds should be expressions of the condition of our heart. If the heart is corrupt, any amount of giving will not build us mansions in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ (Matthew 7:22-23). Right actions for the wrong reasons will be devoured by maggots of evil intentions.

The Lord God gave an astounding victory at Jericho to Joshua and Israel as they ventured to conquer the Promised Land.  They were commanded to store the silver, gold, the articles of bronze and iron into the Lord’s treasury however, Achan, a man from the tribe of Judah coveted and took beautiful robe from Babylonia, two hundred shekels of silver and a bar of gold weighing fifty shekels and hid it in his tent. The action of Achan not only affected him but brought defeat in the next battle to the entire nation of Israel. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

Our actions return back as blessings or burden; wealth or wrath:

1.     Cause: The cause of the action must be pure and holy. Greed, covetousness, envy, pride or selfishness will have an equal and opposite reaction; so will goodness, kindness and love. If we have to change what we receive, there must be a change in what we give.

2.     Consequence: All actions have consequences. Yes there is forgiveness and grace to the sinner yet, the consequences cannot be reversed. Hence, it is important to sow seeds of goodness now to reap an abundance of harvest in future.

3.     Curse: The root of a bloodline curse is repeated transgression until it has become a lifestyle of iniquity. Reversing curses is not a onetime prayer but a lifestyle change.

Our actions have equal and opposite reactions, repercussions and reciprocations.

Psalm 101:7 No one who practices deceit will dwell in my house; no one who speaks falsely will stand in my presence.

Prayer: My Lord and my God, help me to be truthful in my thoughts, real in my words and genuine in my actions. Amen.
