Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Angels are powerful heavenly beings who are normally misunderstood or even ignored many times. They are the heavenly hosts, celestial ambassadors and divine assistants to those who love and fear the Lord God. Angels are spirits. They do not have flesh and blood. There are different classifications of angels with varied functionalities. They serve God’s children as ministering spirits, they deliver God’s message, fight spiritual battles for us and execute God’s command and judgement. They accompany the presence of the Lord. He rides on the wings of the wind (Psalm 104:3b). They permeate into a place where the Lord is honoured, praised and worshipped. Thanksgiving, praise and worship in any dialect or language is the vocabulary of heaven; hence angels are attracted to a place where God is revered and hallowed.
While King David was worshipping the Lord with Psalm 103, (one of his outstanding compositions), he soon realized that the angels had joined the worship service. Praise the LORD, you angels, you mighty ones who carry out his plans, listening for each of his commands (Psalm 103:20). When we submit to obey the Lord and surrender to walk in His ways, we enter into an automatic alliance with the angelic army. The meaning for alliance in the Oxford Dictionary means, “a relationship based on similarity of interests, nature, or qualities.” The nature of the angelic host is to obey, worship and serve the Lord. Hence our obedience, worship and servanthood automatically attract the angelic alliance.
Three basic functions of the angelic alliance:
1. Accompany: Angels accompany and surround God’s children. The angel of God, who had been going before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud moved from before them and stood behind them (Exodus 14:19). Angels accompany us everywhere. They come to work with us and accompany us on our walks.
2. Aid: Angels aid, help and encourage us in the journey of life. The angel of the Lord came again a second time and touched him and said, “Arise, eat, because the journey is too great for you” (1 Kings 19:7). Once we understand this secret we will never seek human help. Men will fail but our angelic assistants will never fail to show up at the hour of our need.
3. Affiliate: Angels are our official affiliates who look for our best interest. When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.” (Genesis 19:15). Partner with the angelic affiliates.
Have your spiritual eyes open to the angelic alliance who accompany, associate and aid us.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for the ministering spirits who are ready to assist me. Help me to always speak the vocabulary of heaven that attracts angelic alliance to encircle me. Amen.
