30 May 2024 – The Diamond in the Dirt – Part 4

Isaiah 62:3 You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God.

The crown jewelries of the United Kingdom are ceremonial ornaments kept in the safety of the Jewel House in the Tower of London. The crown is made of gold and set with 2,868 diamonds, 17 sapphires, 11 emeralds, 269 pearls, and 4 rubies! The Crown Jewels are priceless, being of incalculable cultural, historical, and symbolic value. At 3106 carats, the Cullinan Diamond remains the largest gem-quality uncut diamond ever found and was gifted by South Africa as a symbol of peace between Britain and South Africa after the Anglo-Boer Wars 1899-1902. The diamonds that were once buried in the dirt are now the priceless possessions of the royal family.

Both metaphorically and literally we are a royal diadem decorated with diamonds in the hands of the King of Kings. The world will treat us the way we value ourselves. When we undervalue our worth, the world would treat us like trash but when we understand our significance in Christ Jesus, we will gain respect and prominence. “The world will see you the way you see you, and treat you the way you treat yourself.” Like the priceless Cullinan diamond decked crown on the monarch of the United Kingdom, the Lord God esteems you and me as His precious treasured possessions.

Crowns are ancient symbols of majesty and dignity. It is extremely important to see ourselves as royalty who are empowered with authority, power and protection. If we look at ourselves as grasshoppers then, the world will trample over us, however, when we understand that we are royalty, the world around us will learn to treat us, our time and talents as “treasures”.

Diamond studded Diadem:

1.         Diadem: We are the priceless diamond studded diadem in the hands of the King of the Universe.  For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth (Deuteronomy 14:2). We are sons and daughters not slaves and servants.

2.            Dignity: We have a seat of dignity and authority. For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 2:6). Humility is not thinking lowly about us; humility is knowing our privileges, power and authority yet being subservient to God’s word, will and ways.

3.         Defended: Like the crown jewelry that is protected in the high security vault of the Jewel House, we are guarded, defended and protected by the royal armies of the hosts of heaven. The kings’ kids have high security and bodyguards unlike ordinary civilians. We are treasured, protected and preserved in the safety vault of the Lord of Hosts.

When we behave like royalty the world will treat us with dignity.

Zachariah 2:9b For he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.

Prayer: King Jesus, coach and train me to think, talk and behave like royalty. Amen
