Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
Day 6 in the Divine Workshop was the busiest day! God spoke, and all kinds of livestock, creatures that move along the ground wild animals sprang froth.
Scientists have observed and classified around 1.2 million species of animals in the world. The total number of individual animals adds to ‘20 quintillion or 20 billion billon! There are 360 officially recognized dog breeds and about 1,000 breeds of cattle in the world. There are 3,789 snake species and over 13,800 species of ants in the world. The innumerable varieties of livestock, moving creatures and wild animals were created just by the spoken Word of God.
The Divine Workshop is still creating, transforming, reforming and performing miracles even today.
Then the Lord created man in His own image. He didn’t speak man into being but He got his hands dirty. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). There are many interpretations for human kind being created from the dust but the simple truth is that the Lord God wanted to have a personal touch and personal relationship with mankind.
Touch helps babies to develop the sense of connection with their parents and their family. The compassionate touch of a mother and father is a vital part of bonding and communication with the newborn. The purpose for which God created mankind in His own image was to have personal relationship and connection with Him.
The Divine Workshop:
1. Communicate: The Lord God created us to commune and converse with Him. It was His hands that knit us in our mother’s womb. The conversation with our creator did not begin the moment we surrendered our lives to Him but right from conception. The divine touch-therapy in the womb draws us to Him.
2. Comradeship: The Lord God, the creator of the world values and cherishes our friendship. Friendship works two ways. We have to choose to spend time, share, laugh, cry, and walk hand in hand with the Creator of the World.
3. Conquer: The Lord God created man to control and conquer the living creatures but Adam and Eve sold themselves as slaves to sin. There is royalty in every fiber of our being. The blood of Jesus reinstalls rulership and royalty in us.
Our purpose on earth is to reflect the image of our Creator God and Father to the world.
Genesis 1: 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, My Creator and My Friend, guide me to live purposefully and fruitfully reflecting your image to the world. Amen.
