Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Last but not the least; Jesus has set us free from our emotions and our personality. The devil fools us by tagging us as a short tempered, emotionally weak, adamant or egoistic. It is the deception of hell that makes us believe a lie to live as ‘broken oversensitive and touchy people’. If anyone has invited Christ into their life, their life should change to the likeness and the nature of Jesus. Jesus said, You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes, nor figs from thistles, are they? (Matthew 7:16). It is not by the ‘gift of prophecy, healing or miracles’ but by the ‘fruits’ that we would be acknowledged as the ambassador of Christ. If anyone operates in the gifts of the Holy Spirit yet the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, meekness, gentleness and self-control are missing in their life, it is a caution and a warning about their character.
The first and foremost freedom that we would enjoy is the changes in our temperament and traits. There will be changes in the way we think, talk and react. There will be changes in our emotions and emotional reactions. We will no longer be dragged by feelings but will be led by the Holy Spirit. Our past failures will not hurt us and keep us in the prison of isolation as we have been set free from the hideous past. We will be set free from our personality. Our selfish egoistic ambitions will be fully surrendered to His vision and plan for our lives.
Freedom from “I”, “me” “myself”:
1. Past: Jesus has set us free from our shameful past. The past mistakes will no longer be a prison that we would hide in but will become a pulpit that we will profess Christ from. Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief (1 Timothy 1:13).
2. Personality: Jesus set us free from our ego, wants and selfish gains. Our changes will be visible to the world. “He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy” (Galatians 1:23).
3. People: Jesus set us free from the fear of people. People pleasing will destroy our vision and our purpose. Persecution or insult for the sake of Christ Jesus will not chain us to pleasing people.
Jesus has set us free from our entangling and imprisoning emotions.
Galatians 1:10 Galatians 1:10 in the Bible says, “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ”.
Prayer: Dearest Lord Jesus, teach me to live in the freedom that you have obtained for me. Help me to be set free from the pain of my pitiful past, fear of people or emotional entanglements. Amen.
