19 January 2025 – Hosting God’s Presence – Part 5

1 Samuel 5:4  But the following morning when they rose, there was Dagon, fallen on his face on the ground before the ark of the Lord! His head and hands had been broken off and were lying on the threshold; only his body remained.

The same resurrected power of God that raised Jesus from the dead resides in each one of us who host the awesome presence of God. Once we realize the power that is contained in hosting the presence, we will become fearless and limitless. Hell bows down to the presence of the Lord.

The Philistines rejoiced when they captured the Ark of the Covenant only to later regret mishandling it. They took the ark and placed it in the temple of Dagon. The next morning Dagon was face down before the Ark of God. They lifted Dagon and put him back in his place but the following morning the Dagon had fallen face down and his head and hands were broken and lying at the threshold.  Dagon was trying to escape from his own temple as he could not stand before the presence of the Almighty Lord.

“Hosting the presence makes us armed and dangerous in the spiritual realm”.

Hosting the presence of the Lord makes us a threat to hell. We have the backing of the hosts of heaven and demons will tremble, crumble, crawl and flee before us.

Hosting the presence makes us armed and dangerous:

1.         Head: Hosting the presence of the Lord brings confusion into the enemy’s territory. As the head of the Dagon was broken, carrying the presence of the Lord will sever the demonic head that plots evil against you and me.

2.         Hands: Hosting the presence of the Lord will break the evil hands that are swift to hurt and snatch our blessings. We don’t fight with weapons. While we host and enjoy our fellowship with the Lord, the hosts of combat angels will break every evil stealing hand.

3.         Heavy: The hand of the Lord was heavy on the Philistines who misappropriated the Ark of the Covenant (1 Samuel 5:7). The wicked that misappropriate the righteous will be punished.

“Hosting the presence of the Lord will make us armed and dangerous in the spiritual realm”.

Prayer: Almighty Father, teach me always to be armed and dangerous as I worship and fellowship with you. Amen.
