Numbers 17:4&8 Place them in the tent of meeting in front of the Ark of the Covenant law, where I meet with you. The next day Moses entered the tent and saw that Aaron’s staff, which represented the tribe of Levi, had not only sprouted but had budded, blossomed, and yielded almonds.
The Ark of the Lord was the meeting place where the Lord met with Moses to talk, instruct, guide, teach and lead him. Symbolically the Ark was the dwelling place of the Lord God Almighty. “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them” (Exodus 25:8). In God’s presence there is new life, new beginning and miracles. Aaron’s dead staff that was left in the tent of the meeting in front of the Ark not only came back to life but it also had sprouted, budded and blossomed and produced almonds. This dry stick left in the presence of the Lord miraculously turned into a fruit bearing tree, overnight!
“Hosting God’s presence anoints us with spiritual gifts, wisdom and new beginnings”.
Under the New Covenant, the Spirit of the Lord dwells among us and we are the Ark of the Covenant that carries His presence. Take the dead dream, dry situation and decaying relationships to His presence and come back with a budding and blossoming fruit tree. This golden-wooden box contained three elements, gold jar, Aaron’s staff and the ten commandments of Moses, which would be the three evidences of those who host His presence. This ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron’s staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant (Hebrews 9:4b).
Three evidences of Hosting His Presence of the Lord:
1. Bowl: We who host His presence should be refreshed with freshly baked bread from heaven every day or even several times a day.
2. Budding Rod: Aaron’s budding rod represents the authority we have through the resurrected Saviour. We are anointed and authorized to heal the sick, drive out demons and preach the gospel.
3. Bible: We are the “Living Bible” (stone tablets) and “Living Testimonies” to the world around us.
“Hosting the presence is not done in hiding in our prayer closet. The world should see, witness and testify the glory/nature of the Lord on us”.
Prayer: Dearest Holy Spirit, rest and reside in me and make me your dwelling place. Amen.
